omaewokorosuI used to have a TEMPLATE SET UP which was just the Customise page screencapped for like, changing colours and everything so I knew what this colour and that one corresponded to and could just plonk those down in MS Paint and all that fun shit.
I used to do LAYOUT BANNERS with a matching default icon and a userinfo banner... The entire layout would be THEMED AROUND A SONG.
Would spend hours on it lmao and then change it like two months later.
I would swatch the colours from the banner and use those for the layout colours.
SO TODAY I THOUGHT I could use a different layout because I do get bored and fatigued of it after a while right
I chose a brownish-purple "base" layout and tried to change things and it came out nice but it was also VERY PURPLE FORWARD. I was going for blue. And that is not what I ended up with. So I chose a different "base" layout, this time with darker blues that happened to not be that far off of what I was shooting for...and I went to work. BACK THEN I didn't have a secondary monitor, so I imagine making layouts wasn't as fun because of the constant window swapping...
Every time I would swap tabs and refresh to check to make sure the colours didn't look like hot shit together, I was confronted with this:
It doesn't happen often but I was getting real tired of seeing Heero's face lmao and I went THIS IS VERY, VERY PURPLE, I WANTED BLUE.
Blue like Heero's eyes.
Blue...like Heero's eyes.
This became the view on my second monitor for a while as I picked a different base layout colour scheme and went to work:
Yes, I still use MS Paint in TYOOL 2025 what of it.
And because the original colour scheme was basically darker blues and then goldish colours for text and links, this image was actually really, really good to swatch from because it has those colours except not in Dorothy Catalonia Gold which is fine.
So yeah, I actually expended a wee bit more effort than I normal for a DW layout. It was like half a throwback to a simpler time in my life where this was the kind of shit I worried about because what were responsibilities outside of school and idk updating fanfics for the adoring fans on FFN??
The result, for posterity:
WE ARE SO BACK things are now more organised and aesthetically pleasing (to me) so HERE WE ARE.
