Katarina: Um, by any chance, are you here for the Altean knights try outs?


Jieden: Yeah, that's why I'm here.


Jieden: I'm Jieden. I've come all the way from Sera Village so I could be in the tryouts.


Katarina: Jieden, that's a long name. Well, we have something in common.

How is Jieden a long name? It's four kana! It's as long as hers!

also her bottom picture or whatever makes her look like she's gonna eat me or something.


Katarina: I go by Katarina. Like you, I came here to serve Lord Marth.


Katarina: But, there's such a large group of candidates with plenty of skill, [or something like that, that one kanji is hard to read]
This is true of the people here, even on the other side...


Luke: Aah, I made it.
It'll shine out when I start my test!

I'm guessing beams of light from heaven will shine upon him when he begins his test or something. idk.


Luke: After the tryouts, Altea will be singing my praises, but now my first step will be the tryouts!

Luke wants to be the very best like no one ever was.


Rody: ...I'm going on ahead of you, Luke.


Luke: Hey, wait up, Rody! Don't leave me behind!


Jieden: Looks like those two are here for the same reason as me.


Katarina: We should get going, Jieden.
General Jeigan will be making a speech.


Jeigan: Today's affairs: you will become an Altean knight by striking at this gate.

I wish I knew of a way to make that sound not weird.

No problem :) Figured I might as well do something useful with my Japanese skills.

Luke gets even better later on. I recall the prologue chapter where you get Wrys, Rody's talking about the cleric they're getting (or something like that, it's been a while), and Luke's hoping it's a cute girl, and Rody's all, "You and your romantic notions," and then out pops Wrys and Luke's all D:

Seriously, he's like Sain. Might be why I like him so much, lol.
