And unlike most of these accounts, this one is completely blank:
Typically it'll have an Instagram username listed and a link to an Artstation account and both are filled with art that looks like something generated by KoboldAI or something like it of women with weird proportions and big tits and they all have the same faces and expressions and general look. There will also usually be a Discord username and their generic "I love making art for stories and reading books!" that is more or less the pitch they give you in their little private message.
Admittedly, dear reader, I am quite tired of this shit. It was fun when it was once in a blue moon but now it's multiple times a month.
I don't know if these are actual people or if they're just spambots similar to the ones on AO3 that advertise AI programs in the strangest of ways (by leaving harsh comments amounting to "lololol is this written by ChatGPT/Kobold/whatever? Next time get a human lolololz") or they're just the most generic comments ever constructed because a machine, more or less, wrote it and a person just copypasted.
At least on AO3 you can report these comments and a member of AO3's moderation team looks at it and does whatever they feel is appropriate. FFN, as we know from Years Since Past and Days of Olde, has never really had much of a moderation team if it ever even had one to start, because afair Xing was like. The only one. (Is Xing even still the admin???) And he didn't give a fuck even way back then!
But I've had enough with getting PMs from a website I don't really frequent anymore, and decided to see if you can disable PMs via mobile (because there's a lot you can't do on the mobile version of FFN's website, like update your profile or upload/edit fics) and it appears you can, as seen in the screencap below:
So now I won't be able to get these PMs asking for art collaboration or if I would love to get them somehow to do """art""" for the fics I've written that they've not read one word of. I even put a note in my profile (that they likely don't read, else they would know that my account is more or less abandoned).
Also if you thought that FFN was dead and AO3 reigned supreme... You would be wrong. Plenty of people still for whatever reason post to this hellsite even though there are other (better) options available. Sooooo yeah.
If they start reviewing my fics on this hellsite I'll start laughing. I still won't take you up on your """art services""".
